The museum is incorporated into the concrete casemate that would have housed a 381mm (15inch) cannon during the Second World War. This is one of the four casemates that formed the ‘Todt Battery’.

The main section of the museum is located within the concrete casemate. There are multiple rooms with displays and information on the German occupation. This includes depictions of life at the battery for those garrisoned here.

There are numerous vehicles and weapons on display, most artillery pieces that were used by the German forces. The areawhere the large 380mm cannon would have been situated is now open with large panoramic windows looking out into the English Channel.

Outside of the casemate is a large railway gun on display that can be accessed by steps to gain a better appreciation of the scale. Within the grounds are further wartime vehicles to be seen and examples of German defences used on the beaches.

Displays have information written in French, English and German which offer details on displays and technical data.

The museum explains the story of the defence of occupied coastlines leading to the construction of the Atlantic Wall, (extensive system of coastal defences and fortifications built by Nazi Germany) in 1943.
