Indicazioni stradali

After the capture of Emmerich on March 31, 1945, Canadian engineers built three bridges.

As early as April 1 at 8 p.m., the Bailey bridge, designed to carry 40 tons, was opened to traffic and was named the "Melville Bridge," after the Chief Engineer of the First Canadian Army, Brigadier J.L. Melville. The "Melville Bridge" led to Fährstraße on the Emmerich Rhine promenade.
