The Awenne war memorial commemorates the military victims of the First and Second World Wars.
This pyramid-shaped memorial is crowned by a flaming funerary urn. It is also adorned with a lion holding a flag, topped by a laurel branch.
At the foot of the monument, two plaques are superimposed. The first bears the names of the martyrs of the First World War: LOUIS Ernest, Ursel 31 October 1918; LOUIS Nestor, Leffinge 25 August 1914 and BUZIN Octave, veteran, Awenne 16 May 1922.
The second lists the victims of the 40-45 war: PETIT Ernest (14 May 1940); BOLLE Emile, (6 September 1944). Both died for their country and are buried in the Awenne communal cemetery.
